The Centre for Visual Arts and Culture in association with the British Institute in East Africa are delighted to announce the launch of Pieces of a Nation: South Sudanese Heritage and Museum Collections edited by Zoe Cormack and Cherry Leonardi and published by Sidestone Press. With essays by 32 contributors in Europe, South Sudan, Uganda and Australia, this book delivers a unique range of perspectives on museum objects from South Sudan and on heritage practices in the country and among its diaspora. Speakers will include: Dr Zoe Cormack Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at the African Studies Centre, Oxford University Dr Cherry Leonardi Associate Professor in African History at Durham University Dr Freda Nkirote M’Mbogori  Country Director of the British Institute in East Africa in Nairobi, Kenya Professor Justin Willis Professor of Modern African History at Durham University
